The results of the 2019 Loon Lake study, performed by Restorative Lake Sciences, has shown that our lake is currently healthy.
These results also conclude that our lake would benefit from a whole-lake bioaugmentation program, in conjunction with our current weed treatments. At this time, the Board feels the whole-lake bioaugmentation project should be delayed. More investigation needs to be done before a project of this scope be approved.
A few residents may try a small bioaugmentation project themselves as a trial, at no expense to the Association this 2020 summer season. Our results can be compared to see if this project will benefit the entire lake. We anticipate these small projects will show a reduction in muck, resulting in clearer water with less algae and reducing the nutrients available for weed growth
